Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see a photo of the hot tub I'll receive?

Sure, click here

We don't supply inflatable hot tubs! We have only ever supplied professional, comfortable, Canadian Spa hot tubs which are sturdier, keep hot for longer, and require less energy to heat compared to inflatable hot tubs.

How big is the hot tub?

About 2m diameter

One side of the hot tub will need additional clearance where the heater is connected. Stand where you'd like the hot tub installed, extend your arms fully and turn on the spot slowly. If you haven't touched anything, then it's likely the hot tub will fit. Please measure the area if you are unsure.

Does the hot tub come with seating or steps?

No, it is similar to using your bath

Large, permanent hot tubs usually come with moulded seats and steps. Most portable hot tubs do not offer these features, but are easy to get in and out of, and are very comfortable to sit in.

Can the hot tub be installed anywhere?

Yes

The hot tub needs to be installed on a strong, stable flat surface. It can't be installed on flimsy decking as it can weigh up to 1800kg when full of water. It can be installed on grass (covering grass for any length of time could kill the grass), and it can be installed on gravel if you let us know beforehand. You should be aware surfaces at your property may become marked or discoloured due to installation and exposure to treated water. If you do not own the property or land you wish the hot tub to be installed on you must obtain permission from the owner or landlord.

Will it fit through my front door or garden gate?

Yes

The hot tub will arrive in small sections and is assembled on site. The hot tub will be delivered in a small vehicle so there's no need to worry about access for large vans.

How long does it take to install or dismantle? Do I have to be present?

It takes about two hours to install and half an hour to dismantle

The installation and filling of a hot tub takes around two hours and is mostly dependent on your water pressure. Half an hour is required to drain and dismantle it. You need to be present when the hot tub arrives so you can confirm where it will be located, receive instructions and advice, and sign your hire agreement. You do not need to be present when the hot tub is collected, but you must ensure we have access to the power socket, in order to test the hot tub before powering off and removing the power cable. You will also need to ensure anything we have supplied you is available for collection.

What do I need to provide?

Water and electricity

A normal 13 amp household socket is all that is required to power the hot tub for as long as it's in use. We will supply an extension lead should you not have a socket near the hot tub. An outside water tap is preferred but the most internal taps can be connected to a hose. You do not need to have a hose connected to the hot tub all of the time, only when filling it or if you should need to top it up. Please ensure you let us know if you think there could be any issue with your power socket location, water tap type or location, or drainage situation and we will advise. Usually, we can work around any issue just fine.

What methods of payment do you accept?

Credit card, debit card, PayPal, bank payment or cash

We accept most credit and debit cards and you may pay over the phone or via our secure website. A £100 bond is additionally payable against damages and is returned in full upon satisfactory collection of all items hired to you.

Can I use the hot tub straight after it's delivered?

You'll have to wait unless we can fill with hot water

The hot tub can take up to 24 hours (and up to 48 hours in freezing conditions) to heat up to the optimum temperature - this is why it's usually delivered the day before you wish to use it. Most people use it 24 hours later, as it'll be hot enough, even though it may not have reached maximum temperature. We will attempt to fill with hot water from inside the property to reduce waiting time and, subject to boiler capability and somewhere suitable we can connect a hose to, aim for it to be ready when filled.

What's the minimum hire period and how much notice do you need to book?

A weekend is the minimum period. Book as soon as you can

If you'd like to use the hot tub for one day, or use it mid-week, you will still pay the weekend rate. We are extremey busy around Christmas and from April to September, so you should book well in advance for these periods (sometimes at least eight weeks before).

I have a water meter. How much will it cost to fill the hot tub?

About £3.33 if you have a water meter

Our hot tubs have a maximum capacity of one cubic metre (1,000 litres / 220 gallons) and, like a bath, it won't need to be filled to the brim. Welsh Water charge £3.33 per cubic metre of water (22/23 rate) for water and sewerage (if on a meter) which means it will cost you roughly this amount or less to fill (indication only, this is not a guarantee, please confirm with your supplier if an exact figure is needed).

How much will it cost to run?

About £4 to £8 a day

Lots of things affect how much heating is required including how many people use it, how long for, how often, the ambient temperature, the temperature of the water when filling, your electricity supplier, supplier tariff, etc. As a guide it will roughly cost the above amount to heat daily (indication only, this is not a guarantee, please confirm with your supplier if an exact figure is needed).

Do I have to maintain the hot tub?

No

If you are hiring a hot tub for an extended period of time, you will only be required to add chlorine to the water. This is supplied and it's nothing to worry about - everything is explained during installation. You shouldn't use the hot tub for about 10 hours after applying any chemicals.

How long can I use the hot tub for?

Several hours at any one time

All hot tubs will cool down when in use. We will supply you with a professional hot tub that will retain the heat for longer than other cheaper (and inflatable) models. The amount of time the hot tub will stay hot will depend on the number of people using it, how much water is lost during use, how often people get in and out, what the weather is like, etc. Having the blower on (this creates the bubbles) will cool down the water quite a bit if it's left on for any length of time so you should limit use of the blower if you wish for the tub to stay hotter for longer. The hot tub should remain hot enough for you to have hours of enjoyment. When you stop using the hot tub, place the cover back on, and it will start heating up again ready for your next visit - this can take a good few hours to do so depending on how cold the water got whilst being used.

Can children use the hot tub?

Yes

Children love using the hot tub but they must have adult supervision at all times. The hot tub cover must also be used at all times when the hot tub is not in use. Children (or adults with mental health issues) should NEVER be left within the vicinity of the hot tub on their own at ANY TIME (even with the cover on). An adult (18 years of age or older) is required to sign the hire agreement and understand the safety and operational advice given during installation.

I have a medical condition, can I use the hot tub?

Check with your doctor if you are unsure

If you have a pacemaker, a heart condition, diabetes, a skin complaint, a weakened immune system, are pregnant, or have any health condition you are concerned about, you should take advice from your GP if you are unsure whether it is safe for you to use a hot tub.

Do I need to pay a deposit to hire?

Yes, you need to pay a non-refundable deposit to secure a booking

To ensure we offer the best service, reliability and availability to all our customers, we require a non-refundable deposit to be paid with any booking. We are pleased to provide the option of rescheduling any hire to start within six months of the original hire date. This is subject to availability, location and pricing.

Are there any additional charges?

No, unless equipment hired is not returned or damaged

In the event of loss of, or damage to, any equipment hired; your liability will be assessed as a sum equivalent to the cost of repair or replacement and any losses incurred by the hirer for failure of service to other customers as a direct result.

Can I add anything to the water such as soap or bubble mixture?

No

You should only add the chlorine supplied to you. Adding anything else to the water could damage the hot tub.
